Adelante Mujer Conference

My daughter and I attended the 15th annual "Adelante Mujer" conference today and I must say we had a great time. This conference encourages Latinas to continue their education, exposes Latinas to successful role models, celebrates and embraces the Latina culture, raises self-esteem, and network with other Latina professionals. My daughter who is in 6th grade was mostly excited to attend the conference because it was held at her upcomming middle school. Basically, she wanted to tour the school. However, she did not complain that she wanted to go home and she even asked questions at one of the workshops (I am so proud of her!). It was really nice spending quality time with her. Being the oldest, she doesn't get to have too much one-on-one mommy time. I get the feeling I will one day see my daughter as one of those professional Latinas inspiring other girls to pursue higher education. I love my girl and I am one proud mommy.
